For quite some time the sound of the screeching needle and the rhythmic ka-CHUCK, ka-CHUNK of the paper coming out of the machine was about the only sound in the cockpit. Kaikoura was, frankly, astonished that they were still alive but that hadn't quite processed for her yet. Finally she lenas back from Naja and clears her throat, looking embarassed.
"I apologize" she says, carefully pulling herself away and nearly tripping over Aye in the process. She stumbles and finally gets herself upright. Her knees are visibly shaking, but she remains upright all the same. She didn't really have any idea about what to do with herself, so she fell back on protocol.
"So, I can see you're all recuperating, but I strongly advise temporary repairs to the ship or else find a port that is extremely close. Something in orbit preferably. Not sure the heat-shield is still working. Don't know if its still attached to be honest. There is some good news in all this though, think you'll be glad to hear it. The radio is still working. Signal is clear as a bell."
There's a click and 'La Cucaracha' begins playing in the background, the computerized voice eventually starting to hum along with it.
"Miss?" Kaikoura says, looking down at Naja "What do we do now?"

Jikai had been quite content to stay on the ground, until the festive song begins to play over the radio. Suddenly he sits bolt upright. "No. Nononononono." He looked worried as he quickly scrambled back up onto his webbed feet, left hand patting his hip to ensure that his swords were still there. "Surely not..." But, sure as sure can be, there is indeed a rather menacing looking taco floating through space not too far away, just ahead. Obviously, this was the source of the clear transmission.
The fish appears to go a bit pale, and instinctively ducks down a little despite it not really being a whole lot of help considering they were in a giant chunk of near-scrap in the middle of nothing. That delicious looking ship, all brightly painted and cheerful looking, was massive! "We can't be staying here..." he informs the others urgently.

"Either I'm misunderstanding you or you're not making any sense cat." she says to Aye as the blue feline curls up next to her and Kai. Naja can't help but pet the kitty softly, while listening to the computer for a moment but still isn't sure if she should talk to the invisible voice much. It was creeping her out frankly.
The huntress sighs and stands up after Kaikoura gets off her. She gives a chuckle and says "Why are you asking me? I haven't even a clue where I was let alone where we are now..." She gets up and hobbles to the window a bit shakily, and squints out of the damaged glass. "I don't really see anything except the night sky. Any other windows we can get a better view from?" she asks the room at large, ignoring the strange music as she turns around to head for the door, somehow completely missing the other ship coming their way.
Naja gives Jikai a strange look, perhaps a bit amused by his sudden fear and urgency. "What's eating you fishy? Anyway I'm still not sure about you." she says, pointing at the samurai bounty hunter. "So don't you go around trying anything fancy with those swords of yours." Funnily enough she never stopped to question Aye's intentions or otherwise, probably on the basis she didn't think much of a cat having intent, even if he did talk and stand upright.

"Sense make Aye to Aye."
Though it had been going in the background the whole time, the screeching needle scraping across the page, dropping the occassional dot finally came to a close with a ka-CHUNK, vrrrrrrrrrrrr, and spit out a piece of paper which unceremoniously drifted to the floor.
"Addendum: paper feed catch damaged."
Now that both sources of heat had left, Aye lazily stood up, stretched on all-fours and then went over to the piece of paper, looking down at it. In the middle of the page, there was a small letter O and all around it were nothing but a bunch of periods. But the paper was still warm from being printed too so Aye curled up and sat on top of it.
"*Ahem*" the voice cleared it's throat (an action which made absolutely no sense) "It looks like the backup star map isn't picking up anything. Not like these sweet tunes, that is. It's coming in as clear as a taco riding through space on twin Ion Engines!"
Outside the window, a Taco riding through space on twin Ion Engines diverted it's course and began to head towards the smoldering wreck of a ship that had just jumped into it's immediate vicinity.

Kaikoura stays where she is, there really wasn't much else she could do at the moment, confused and frightened as she was. She could see the ship coming at them, of course.
"There's nothing else for you to see out there, ma'am" she reports to Naja as she watches the ship approaching them. "Space Banditos."
She was, at least in appearance, fairly calm about this, despite knowing what it meant. It just happened that her owners' shadier dealings involved less than savory characters, so this was somewhat routine for her. The broader ramifications of this, considering she was not with her master right now, were quite lost on her with all the excitement that had been going on.
Meanwhile, the voice of the computer begins 'singing' lightly with the beat, he is not good at it.

"Hey it's just Naja okay? You still haven't told me your name by the way." she says, turning around at the doorway, and pointing at Kaikoura before pausing in confusion "Wait... what?" She quickly rushes over to the window again, completely stumbling on poor Aye in the process to get there, putting her hands up against the glass and staring out in bewilderment. "... is this normal? Are giant sky tacos a thing?" she asks, before putting a hand to her face and groaning. "You not what, I don't care. I really don't."
She sighs and leans against the glass which cracks very slightly, and looks to the 'crew'. "So, any ideas what we do with sky bandits? I'm not really a boat kind of person. If you get me close enough I'll fight em off." she volunteers, idly checking her fingernails. "I mean, you two could probably handle yourself, right?" she says, pointing to Jikai and Aye, before putting an arm around Kaikoura and giving her a bit of a squeeze. "Don't worry, I'll protect ya." she says to the blue girl with a smirk.

"Sky tacos are a thing," Jikai confirms for Naja, despite her stating that she doesn't care. He also gives her a nod when she asks if he can handle himself, casting Aye a bit of a look to see his response. He pokes at a few instruments on the control panel, frowning when all he seems to get is error messages, as well as a giggle and a "hey, that tickles!" from the computerised voice. "Well, we can't move, can't take a hit, can't shoot them. All we can really do is hope that they board us, or take the ship onboard whole for salvage." It was a very big taco.
The walking fish turns and makes his way over towards Kai and Naja, adressing the blue one first. "You have dealt with this kind before, yes? Do you have any idea of how many we may be looking at on board?" It was time to prepare a plan of attack. The ship was getting dangerously close, and he was still kind of half expecting them to just get blasted to pieces.

The feline's ears quickly perk up when Kai mentions what they are and his fur bristles. He'd never seen their ship before but the memories would never leave him. The Horror... the Brutality... the Maracas. He was too caught up in the memories to get out of the way and Naja stumbled over him. He stood up, now having been denied the last remaining source of warmth in the cockpit- seeing as how the big fish probably wasn't very warm and Naja was already a pretty frosty character in her own. But the fish was on the right track- they would need to prepare.
"Mean fierce Space Banditos. Kill many, steal all, beans eat they," he said, somberly. "Hard tell numbers to do. Maracas many, hear numbers cannot. Burros, ponchos many, see numbers cannot."

Kai almost instinctively clings to Naja was she squeezes her, going a bit limp. What was up with this girl? When Jikai addresses her she straightens up immediately.
"There are fifteen crew members aboard the ship" she reports without hesitation. "Their intent is to board our ship, kill any opposition they encounter, and capture any they find...agreeable." She squirms a bit. "The one who identifies himself as the captain is thinking about a slave trader he knows nearby...and now that his enchilada is not spicy enough. How hard is it to make a damn enchilada? There are now 14 crew members aboard the ship...and he hopes one of us knows how to cook."
She stares at Jikai and the others expectantly, hoping them to make some sort of sense of what she'd just said as the little light on the top of her helmet turns red.

Naja stares at Kaikoura for a moment before jostling her. "How the hell do you know that?" she asks, looking bewildered. Kai didn't seem like the kind to make jokes like that so she could only be serious. "This a magic thing?" as she taps the head brace thing that Kaikoura wears. "Anyway, fourteen? That's like... uh, 3 and a bit for each of us. No problem." she says with rather cocky confidence, cracking her knuckles and grinning like a maniac. "Besides, I do know how to cook."She lets go of the poor blue alien girl and heads over to Jikai, giving Aye a brief scritching behind the ear on the way. She then simply pulls Jikai's smaller sword right out of it's sheath and takes a look at it, examining the blade carefully. "You mind if I borrow this? I'm all out of sword. Nice blade this actually." she tells him simply. Without waiting for an answer she turns back to Kaikoura and Aye says "I don't suppose you two got any other useful magic tricks or something that might help?"

Jikai looks at Kai with a rather impressed expression. Easy to command, and with an extremely handy ability. This girl would make a useful ally. "What's an enchilada?" he questions nobody in particular, before glancing to Naja and nodding. "Fourteen split between the three of us shouldn't be-hey!" He makes grabby for the blade as Naja snatches it from it's sheath, though misses when a sudden rock of the ship causes him to stumble. He presumed that was the first physical contact between their ship and the banditos'. The impact is followed immediately by the sound of scraping metal along the hull, then a pause of silence. "I'm going to ask you to give that back to me. Now." he says to Naja, quite seriously, before being interrupted again by a loud drilling sound. "They're about to breach. They'll be on board any moment now," he says, glancing back to Aye as if expecting him to do something about it.

Aye stepped up beside the others, the four of them all standing in a circle for only a moment. They certainly made a peculiar sort of crew with an oddly high amount of blue among them: a light blue Rai'ku, a dark blue Yuana, a sky blue... cat-thing and then a brown human. So much for color uniformity. When the ship violently rocked with the clang of metal against taco metal, Aye's fur bristled and his large, triangular ears filled with the violent sound of drilling on the outer hull. They would be here soon.
"Idea have," the cat said simply and then hunched down and darted out of the room shortly followed by the sound of a metal grate clattering on the floor. Aye had hopped up into the electrical ducts above the walkways and was now weaving between loose-hanging wires and conduits towards the drilling. While he may not be that effective in a direct fight against a band of banditos, he did have a few tricks up his... uh... fur?

Kaikoura was, on the other hand, seeming to be a lot less useful as soon as the ships make contact. She crouches a bit and puts her hands over her head, though for some reason refusing to flee and hide. Her long Anai swinging a bit behind her with the force of the impact and breach of the hull. She was murmuring something under her breath, but it was far from audible in the commotion.
"Not that this is news" says the computer "given what we've been through in the short time you've all been on board, but we've got a hull breach on deck three. Thought you ought to know."
Kai whines softly. She was too small and too frail to fight any space banditos...or probably anyone else, even assuming she still had her shock baton.
MEANWHILE
Down on deck three, a huge chunk of the wall topples inward, crashing to the metal floor, the sound echoing through the empty deck. In steps an extremely short and paunchy humanoid wearing a pair of bandoliers over his dingy uniform. His face was mostly covered by a massive, wide-brimmed sombrero with a tall, straight crown (befitting his position as captain). His most distinguishing other feature was his massive black moustache which reached almost down to the ground. The entire crew seemed to have these, though none were nearly so big or luxurious as that of the captain.
"'Ello?" he calls into the corridor of the ship in a thick accent you really wouldn't expect so far from earth. "We are eear. Geve up now and thees will be much easier."

"Look, I promise I will give your knife back once I get something else to replace it." she tells Jikai, rolling her eyes a bit and smiling. "I can't fight a bunch of bandits with only THIS thing right?" as she holds up the jack tool. It made a nice mace and all but it wasn't really intended for that. Besides Naja wasn't satisfied with such small arms, so she wanted two to make up for it.
She stops and glances out at the cat before shaking her head and trying to pull up Kaikoura. "Hey, c'mon, we're going. You stick behind me, and watch my back." she says before smiling "I'll keep you safe too. No worries." She holsters both her weapons before holding Kaikoura by the hand, if only so she could get her moving to start. Naja looks to Jikai again and says "I dunno what that cat is doing but I hope you're good to help me hold them off."
She heads out of the bridge room, pausing as she notices the grate, looking up and muttering "What is he doing..." then just deciding to leave it for now, heading down the corridor towards the noise of the breach, trying to drag poor Kai the whole way if she could.

"Come out, come out wherever choo are," the surly, burly, mustache-curly bandito called out in a taunting voice. When no reply came, he turned around to his fellows and said, "Eh, 'mere. Choo guyz take left, choo guys take right." With the clink of spurs and the rustle of heavy bandoleers, the banditos split up into groups of two or three as they began to search the ship, completely unaware of the thing scurrying through the electrical ducts above.
As the banditos spread out through the ship, one particular pair had wandered into one of the more damaged and crumpled parts of the ship.
"Ey essay?" said one with bristly, catterpillary mustache.
"What, essay?" replied the other with a thick, handlebar mustache.
"I got a baaaaaaaaad feeling 'bout this," said Caterpillar.
"Don't be cheeken, mayn! We are Banditos! Most feared macarras in the galaxy! No pendejos would ever cross us," replied Handlebar
"Dats not eet mayn. Some sheep, all banged up n' stuff, jumps in outta nowhere, ain't no crew, ain't no fuel, ain't no nothin' mayn! Do you theenk es... embrujado?"
"Haunted!? Mayn, choo theenk everything es haunted!" Handlebar taunted. "Oooooh~ my burro es haunted! She don't no work! Ooooooh~ my mustache es haunted! She no grow beeg n strong!"
"My burro was haunted! We had to go to the mujer sabia to feex her."
Coming up to a door to a maintenance room, Handlebar looked back gruffly at Caterpillar. "Mayn, that was no mujer sabia! That was a doctor. Next time I get a flu, maybe choo say I am haunted. Or maybe thees door es haunted eh? Big, bad, scary door!" he said, reaching out to open it. "Probably gonna- AYAYAYAAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!"
The moment his hand touched the door, he suddenly jumped up and his sombrero lit up like candles on Dia de los Muertos, his hand still locked on the door. Eventually, he flumped to the ground, smoking but not before Caterpillar was already fleeing the scene, screaming. "Madre de dios! Embrujado! Fantasmas! Ghosts!!!"
Of course, this all left him blissfully unaware of Aye in the ducts above, having re-routed the emergency air-conditioner power lines directly into the door handle. Consequentially, it was starting to get pretty warm inside the ship.
