Kaikoura watched this from the (relative) safety of the control room for the monsters' door. She could see it -barely- through a small gap in the metal wall...a viewing port to make sure it was ready for her to open the gate. It was horrifying to her...all teeth and claws and pointy bits wrapped up in something 50 times taller than she was. She shivers and turns back to the bank of monitors before her. She could see Gartik, whos face had been on the main screen taunting Naja, as well as the cameras all around the arena.
The images begin to change as the hard-light swamp hologram is engaged, suddenly surrounding Naja with a virtual bog which she now must contend with. It would make things much easier for this particular creature... Finally on the console before her a bright red light disengages, being replace with a green one. Kaikoura sighs heavily and pulls the gate lever.
Inside the wall comes the sound of engaging hydrolics and other machinery under high pressure as the gate slowly pulls back. The creature roars as light and the smell of the swamp enters its enclosure and it bashes its head against the door, trying to force it open faster...Naja would see it at any second now...

Naja watched the door open, so slowly it was almost annoying. She was ready to start hitting the door just as the monster was. She wound back her hammer, and decided to take the advantage, running forward ready to strike whatever it was that came through.
The monster stepped out, it's scaled glistening in the artificial light of the arena, standing 15 meters tall, and 26 meters long, with hundreds of razor sharp teeth and focused beady eyes. A plesioth. And it was green. Whoever owned this Arena went to the trouble of capturing a rare breed of angry land shark. And Naja got to play with it all by herself.
She screams wildly as the monsters urges forward, swinging her hammer upwards to hit it in the chin. She connects the hit, to be met with a whine from the monster, but it merely turns around on a dime, slamming it's large finned tail into her. These things always looked a bit silly, with their finds and webbed chicken-like feet. Silly until it decided you were lunch anyway.
Naja picked herself up from the swampy floor, watching as the Plesioth slowly approached her while she was down. The beast opened it's mouth and fired a white beam at the hunter, super pressurized water straight from it's special internal organs. Getting hit by that would almost certainly leave a human shredded. She manages to dive out of the way thankfully, before running at the towering shark creatures with legs and wings. No matter how many times it struck her she got back up and returned to hit it with force.
Nothing else mattered right now. This strange place or the aliens. The only thing that mattered was kill or be killed. And she loved it.

"Oh, and the human just avoids the water blast" says a new voice, sort of an annoying one that seemed to be way too excited about the proceedings. Naja might see him, if she got a chance to look up at the screen. He was a slender alien with a narrow neck and overwide shoulders wearing a terrible looking mustard-colored tweed jacket. There's a general commotion from the crowd watching her, a chorus of boo-ing and cheering for those whos bets are being affected one way or the other.
Kaikoura covers her eyes as Naja dodges, not daring to peek out from behind her hands for a minute or so after it happens...the boo-ing gave her a little hope, but the cheering made her think she had probably been hurt. When she finally does peek out once more, she sighs with relief.

"Well what do you bloody want me to do? Catch it with my teeth?" she mutters to herself, rolling out of the way as it charged at her, it's webbed feet sliding across the swampy ground. It turns quickly and effortlessly, letting out a high pitched roar as it bolts towards Naja again.
The hunter winds back her hammer, digging her feet into the damp ground, preparing herself. Just as the beast is about to strike, full speed with it's head lowered and mouth wide open, Naja side steps swiftly and swings around in a circle, her heavy hammer belting the Plesioth in the head.
It screeches, toppling over onto it's side, flopping about lamely like a fish. It tries to push itself back up, but before it can Naja is already there, swinging her weighted weapon down on one of it's legs, creating a loud audible snap as the bone is shattered. The hunter laughs maniacally, only to get slapped in the face with the other leg, causing her to slide across the arena. The Plesioth manages to get itself upright, trying to limp away, but it had nowhere to go. It tries to go back to where they had it penned up before, only to have Naja suddenly run up from behind and break the other leg, her hammer connecting with the joint.
The monster goes down, screeching, flailing about wildly once again, watching helplessly as Naja limps around it, up to the head. It gnashes at her, trying to make one last effort to slice her up with it's razor sharp teeth. The Hunter grins, and brings her hammer down on it's head.
Naja pants, her hands gripped tightly onto the hammer, still stuck inside the skull of the monster. She was battered bruised and scarred, but that didn't stop her from laughing madly. She won.

"Oh, and DOWN goes the Tetoloth! Look at that blow, I think we have a winner folks!" The annoying voice of the announcer echoes about the place as the virtual crowd above erupts into a volley of cheers and jeers, depending on if they'd won or lost by the sudden end of the fight. The swamp suddenly begins to de-rez, the textures of the plants and terrain switching to a lower resolution before giving way to a green grid structure and then disolving entirely leaving Naja and the creature alone on the dirt covered former ground.
Almost at once, several red dots find thier way all over her body. She's surrounded by creatures! Tall ones, about 6 feet each looking like a cross between a bodybuilder and a bulldog...at least they seemed to have the tiny heads of bulldogs...Each of them had a large, dangerous looking rifle pointed at the huntress and one of them, one with a few more scars and a bit of gold on his armor, was shouting at her to put her hammer down or be shot.
Kaikoura watched all this from her spot behind the gate...but it was just about then that she felt a tremendous pressure in her Anai which brought her to her knees. She whimpered a bit as the pressure relented...she was being summoned back to the upper hall... Naja's fate was out of her hands for the time being.

Naja wipes some sweat from her brow, before trying to yank the hammer from the skull. "It's called a damn Plesioth." she mutters, grunting as she frees the heavy weapon, only to end up looking down at her self, poking at the red dots, which of course transfer to her hand once it was there.
"Huh?" she utters, rather confused before realizing they were coming from the dog creatures. She snrks, trying not to laugh at the armed aliens, although this was rather difficult given their faces. Dog people! She considers trying to hit them all but... those weapons looked a bit like gunbows. If she had a shield or even something light like a sword but right now she was a sitting duck with this metal lump. She sighs and lets go of it, the bludgeon thudding against the ground. "All right, there you go." she says, putting her hands up and performing the universal gesture for don't shoot me. While doing so, she glanced around, wondering where the blue alien girl was...

Kaikoura scurried down the hall once again as Naja was taken by the burly aliens and shackled once again. Of course, the warrior was about the last thing on her mind at the moment as she tried to get back to the bar area where her master was. It wasn't a long trip, and it was at once too far and not far enough to get back to it... She comes to a halt outside the door back to the bar, takes a moment to compose herself...re-engage her dress grid...and then strides confidently back into the place.
She bypasses a rowdy group who was celebrating thier victory in the arena moments before, nearly getting knocked off her feet, before finally reaching the table. Gartik was shrouded in a veil of thick, horrible smoke...his flat face barely visible save for the glowing end of his cigar. Apparently he'd bet well.

Naja grumbles as she's restrained again, just going along with everything for now. She was hoping this fight would somehow earn her freedom but it would appear not.
She sizes up the bulldog-men and wonders if she could take them... they'd have to be close together. Guns that size were awful in a small space.
"So when do we eat?" she asks her keepers.

As it turned out, it would be quite some time before Naja got to eat anything. The cell was neutrally lit, so once she was left alone, she was on her own to determine how much time was passing. At some point, it could have been hours or days later for all the huntress knew, she was given a platter of...well, it was some sort of watery grey mush. It smelled pretty bad...
Meanwhile, Kaikoura was back upstairs with the grotesque creature that was her owner, Gartik. She stood in front of him, translating as he spoke to a pair of creatures that might as well have been giant cockroaches. The little light on the front of her helmet was green, allowing her to scan the rather simple minds of the creatures before her. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on which side of the table you were on) the murder of her boss seemed to be the last thing they were thinking about.
They'd wisely bet with Gartik earlier, and the three of them were having a rather lavish celebratory dinner. "<Did I tell you, or did I tell you??>" he said, laughing through his horrible cigar. "<Been watching that one for years. She's a sure thing.>"
"<Excellent choice>" the bug-things agree, one of them slamming thier glass down on the table -he was long since properly drunk. "<That bitch is gonna make us a shit-loadah money.>"
Kai winced...she felt bad for the poor creature, even if she was terrified of her, for she knew what was in store for her.
For the visible cringe, she was kicked in the Anai, which hurt terribly. Gartik knew this, which is obviously why he did it, but also why he sent one of the older, more scantily-clad Rai'ku servants to refill the bug-creatures glasses.

The Hunter was not pleased. Waiting for hours on end only to get... slop! "This... this isn't meat. I am not some farm animal!" she shouts out loudly to no one in particular.
She grunts and and then quickly shovels the gruel into her mouth, doing her best to hold it down, gagging a little bit. It was awful but she needed the food, or at least something to keep her alive. She knew that much.
After she had finished it, she picked up the platter and examined it before just putting it down, and started hitting her cell door, repeatedly, yelling angrily, leaving dent after dent. It wasn't going to break it down obviously.. it was far too strong for that. But it gave her an outlet.

The party was still in full swing when Gartik and his Rai'ku entourage -including Kai- retitred to the upper floor for the evening. It was from here, in fact, that the Guun slimeball ordered Naja's 'food' finally be sent down to her. Kai listened to this process while she was sent to draw him a bath. She sat in the opulent bathing chamber, a room which fit in well with the luxury of the whole of the upper floors of the place, which stood almost totally in defiance of the filth that supported it. Despite being one of the nicer places on the whole station, Kai hated being here. The whole place bore the stink of the filthy creature she was bound to, and even places like the dungeon far below them felt more wholesome.
She listened to the sound of the running water, slipped one of her lithe hands under the tap. The water was hot, but felt wonderful on the webs between her thin digits...she thought about Naja in her cell...taken from her home without warning or reason. The Rai'ku found herself wondering if she was scared down there...probably a silly thought. Could something as big and powerful as the humanoid hunter even feel fear? She'd faced down that monster like it was nothing to her, surely...
Of course, that would change in time. The cell was only temporary, soon Naja would be taken to a more permanent home, a paddock, for lack of a better term, where she would be treated like an animal. It'd be more comfortable than the cell, but only marginally so. Her thoughts drifted to the last creature they'd kept there...
Of course, this train of thought was interrupted by the sound of splashing. Kai's head whipped around, her Ka-nai smacking her inadvertendly in the face as she sees the water now flowing over the side of the tub. She lunges for the handle, turning off the water, and is already plunging her hand down into the tub to drain some of the water when Gartik and the other Rai'ku, the former wearing a plush bathrobe and the latter wearing looks of the utmost concern, thier metal restraint headgear and nothing else, entered.
A half hour later, carrying several wet towels and sporting a dozen or so new bruises and an eye already swelling shut, Kaikoura heads out of the apartment and makes for the laundry. She wouldn't be going back right away though, no. No, her next stop was the dungeon.

Naja had been beating her cell door the entire time. She didn't have anything better to do and, well.. she really wanted out. She couldn't live like this. Just some tool brought out occasionally for entertainment. Felynes got better treatement than this! They weren't even feeding her real food!
She screamed in blood curdling anger, slamming her fists against the door repeatedly. They were bleeding by this point, raw and sore. Yet she wasn't doing any real damage. A huge dent for sure but this stuff just didn't want to break.
She might be insanely strong, and have the stamina of twenty oxen or something, but there was only so much one human could beat up a metal cell door. She soon slumped against it, gritting her teeth and trying to hold back some sobs, albeit, angry sobs.
The hunter stops though, hearing a faint sound from the stairs. She stands up straight and looks through the electric bars, trying not to stick her nose through them in the meantime. Her fists clench up again in anticipation, despite the pain they were in... she was so ready to hit something that wasn't metal.

Kai crept down the stairs carefully, one bare foot at a time, sideways of course so her Anai didn't thump against the steps -it was sore enough without help. Soon she reaches the bottom, back down into the dank gloom of the dungeon. The guards seemed to be off -somehwhere- which was fortunate for the little Rai'ku. In truth, they'd gotten so sick of Naja's noise they'd all moved off to the other end of the block to watch some television in peace.
Kai peeks around the corner, finding herself alone and carefully takes down one of the stun sticks from before; there to help or not, Naja still terrified her. She creeps towards her cell, pressing herself against the wall opposite and sliding along, clutching the wand close to herself. This time, there was no pretense of being in control. She was hurt and scared and it showed.
When she gets JUST close enough to be seen if Naja happened to be at the door and looking out she stops.
"Hey...hey in there..." she says, softly, having no idea how to otherwise begin this discussion and simply hoping that she didn't start shouting right away.

Naja had the face of someone who was well ready to explode, pent up anger and fear mixed into a volatile force deep down in her... and all of it sunk the moment she saw Kaikoura limp over to the cell door. Naja wasn't expecting any of this. She was waiting for a guard or to be dragged off to the arena again, not to be confronted with a slave who'd been battered.
The hunter's expression softened, giving a look of confusion and even slight concern. She doesn't say anything for a good few moments, leaning against the door and just examining Kai's bruises. "The hell happened to you?" she asks after a moment. "Don't tell me they get YOU to fight monsters too?"

"Shhh!" Kai hisses softly, putting a finger to her lips. She glances down the hall fearfully, but there was no sudden clamor of incoming guards. At length, she relaxes a little. "No, nothing like that she whispers "I let the bath overflow." She grips the baton even more tightly, as if unsure what to do. Now she was down here, her feverish fantasies about releasing Naja seemed frightening and silly.
"You have to get out of here" she blurts out rather abruptly, though still in a barely audible whisper.
